The Brambles provides the best services to care for Intellectually Disabled adults.
Our residential homes are custom built and designed to meet the specific needs of adults with intellectual disabilities. All homes are unique and have a different theme including the Hacienda, Carriage and Villa. Each home is beautifully furnished and features a large kitchen, bathrooms, private bedrooms, gathering areas and outdoor spaces. Click to read more about our residential group homes.
Day Support Center
Our newly-expanded Day Support Center, located in the heart of Mathews, has been in operation since 2004 and serves Brambles group home residents and adults from the 10 counties that comprise the Northern Neck-Middle Peninsula Community Services Board.
The center is a lively place with two activity rooms, shower/bathing facilities, full kitchen and outdoor courtyard. Day support attendees play games, make crafts and enjoy activities and outings. We maintain a staff to client ratio of 1:3.
Family & Community
The Brambles is a family owned and operated enterprise, and we believe each resident and day support attendee is an extension of that family. We encourage residents to lead a lifestyle as active and social as their abilities allow. Supervised by our experienced staff, residents make meals in the kitchen, help feed and care for pets, gather for games, crafts and more.
Activities include ice cream socials, karaoke, volunteering at the animal shelter, bowling, trips to the beach and more. Click to see our menus and activities calendar.
To ensure the safety of our residents, we maintain a fleet of vans to transport them safely from the group home residences to the Day Support Center, shopping trips, local entertainment events, and medical appointments.
Transportation may be available for local families who have their loved one live at home but attend the Brambles Day Support center.
